BOSTON, MA — Caydan Capital Partners, a leading lower middle market private equity investment firm announced the appointment of Sam Waicberg as ManagingPartner, Caydan Ventures.

Mr. Waicberg brings extensive executive experience to Caydan and will have a broad mandate as Managing Partner—working with Caydan’s investment teams to identify new investment opportunities and operationalize existing investments within the firm’s portfolio. “As a firm focused on helping our investments achieve the highest levels of performance, we are thrilled to have an executive as accomplished as Sam join our team,” said Rick Waldo, Caydan Co-Founder and Managing Partner. “Sam’s senior leadership and business savvy are highly complementary to our focus on identifying strategic growth opportunities that transform early to lower middle market companies into high-value market leaders.”

Most recently, Mr. Waicberg was the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CareAR, a SaaS augmented reality platform for the service management market, which was later acquired by Xerox. Mr. Waicberg continued at Xerox, serving as President and General Manager of Xerox’s software business unit, which he grew to an estimated valuation of $700M.  Before founding CareAR, Mr. Waicberg was Chief Marketing Officer of Genband, an $800M communication solutions provider, where he successfully reinvented and repositioned the company’s brand strategy and solutions portfolio.  Prior to his role at Genband, Mr. Waicberg was CEO of Iperia, a unified mobile messaging application platform, where he successfully turned around and pivoted the business leading up to the acquisition to Genband. Mr. Waicberg also has held senior management positions at Blackberry,Aspect Communications, and Oracle.

“I couldn’t be more excited to join Caydan Capital Partners at a time when there is increasing market demand for next generation and transformational technology, infrastructure, and enterprise solutions,” said Waicberg. “I look forward to helping Rick and Caydan’s team of investment and strategy professionals in working with new opportunities and building long-term relationships and value.”
